so i went to the commisary had to get TWO things. i usually park in the "expected" mother parking.. ive seen alot of people do it..not a big deal. i had this older high fulutin lady stop in the middle of the road an i ask me while im unloading my baby ARE YOU PREGNANT? im like uh no..but i have a 15pd 4m old to lug around&ive seen plenty of moms park here..&im like ARE YOU PREGNANT? shes like NO I WAS JW BC YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO PARK THERE! i just walked off&ignored the old hag. i dont think its a big deal..
handicap you have to a permit. yes there are some expect mother parking that you have to have a permit for.. but i asked one of my docs when i was preg.if people with infants could park..and she said yea its fine..until they start walking and stuff then you really dont need to park there..
as much as I hate those parking spots, I think it's rude to park unless you are pregnant. Let's be real, a 15 lb baby is not a lot to carry. If it is, then I pity you when your kid is 2.
why would a doctor tell you it is OK to park there? Is she a parking authority? lol I would not park there I think it is more ethical. When I was pregnant with my twins and they felt like they were gonna drop out at any moment, I would of loved a expectant mother space. I think just having a baby to carry in a seat does not warrant the right to use that space..again just my opinion. And why is this lady an old hag for just pointing out you were doing something wrong?
IDK? she's the one who gave me a permit for the parking lot.. its not that big of a deal to me.. when i was preg a parkin spot a couple more feet further away didnt hurt..when i seen a mom with a baby takin a parkin spot ment for me..i mean i was goin to walk around a store anyway..
The doctor actually gave you a "permit" to park in that spot even though you are not pregnant. Why? Your theory of of pregnant women walking through the store too and it not being a big deal can also be said about you. Again I think it is an ethical thing. Just because a doctor told you go ahead and do it does not make it morally right IMO. Are you injured? Is there some medical issue here?
I'm w/ the old hag on this one. lol. If im shopping with my little ones i carry my youngest until the first cart i find, or i put her in a stroller. I leave the preggo mommy and handicap parking for others who need it more then me :)
I thought the permits were for Madigan, are they for the PX and Comm too? I don't think it's cool you do that. My feet are so swollen today I can barely walk and I'm on pain patches for my back, I need that spot more than you do.
i always hated those spots even when i was pregnant.. i would bypass those open spots and wouldnt mind parking further away.. good exercise.. same now.. i have a 2 yr old that weighs 35lbs and i sometimes carry her that doesnt make it right for me to park in a spot assigned for women that are expecting.. builds your arm muscles.. and if not use the buggy ;)
agree kathryn, when you get to the commissary you unload your baby in a cart, Kathryn is stuck w/ her load no matter what, so when you HAVE to walk to buy groceries(last I checked wasn't a luxury), when she is done she definitely doesn't wanna walk farther because the mom w/ the carrier didn't want to do the right thing
I utilized the pregnant parking until my daughter was about 2 months old. I think the permit should last a little bit longer after you have the baby just because it takes a bit longer for some to heal after birth. Hauling a new baby around is a DRAG sometimes, and it takes a little time getting used to. So yeah, I faulted a little bit, but I felt I deserved it, as every new mother does. IMO.
