bookoo ad

has anyone gone? what is it like?

Megan LeeAnne --- 12 years ago -

I've heard of those. Haven't done it. It's not free..as states in the ad you get a complimentary workout...after that they're going to want you to join their team and buy the DVDs. I have someone on my Facebook that does it.

OnARoll --- 12 years ago -

how do they get away with false adverts? bleh.

Megan LeeAnne --- 12 years ago -

Technically its not false bc they do state in the ad "join us for a free complimentary workout". It doesn't say its always free. That's just hoe the curves places work. You get 1 free complimentary workout and then they get you to buy a membership etc.

if you want free classes and stuff just go to jensen...its mostly wives there and there are tons of classes...for free.

Megan LeeAnne --- 12 years ago -

Yep...and I haven't been there since the remodel but if they still have the TVs you can go to the desk and borrow all those workout DVDs for free

cocowgirl777 --- 12 years ago -

as soon as i get my sons school and cys thing figured out i will be trying to get there daily for some kind of workout...i want to be in perfect shape when hubby comes home and i have till swimsuit season to do it lol so it is perfect timing lol.

cocowgirl777 --- 12 years ago -

and my dad was a personal trainer, my best friend is a trainer and mma fighter...so i have learned some stuff over the years if you need some help.

OnARoll --- 12 years ago -

can you bring those dvd's home? probly not huh?
I'd love to learn to kick box.
kids are not in CYS

cocowgirl777 --- 12 years ago -

im workin on getting mine in...its worth it...you get that hr every day to go to the gym and get a break and work out...its nice. if ya still dont wanna enrole them...there are always the 20 librarys...they have tons of dvds and probably at least a few are workout things. there is also netflix or something as another option to learn from home.

OnARoll --- 12 years ago -

oo netflix is a good idea...
i do want to. but i've been waiting to hear back from them since january. i follow up. now i have a few more hoops to jump through, which i'm doing quite well. I don't vaccinate and I've got a religious waiver from the doctor, letters from 2 doctors, and signed statements, but they want me to shorten an email that was 4 pages long from last year when I tried to start the process. I just need to shorten my email.

s'cuse the bad grammer

Megan LeeAnne --- 12 years ago -

No, you can't bring them home. They provide a space for you to workout at the gym with them. The "free bookoo" ad isn't going to let you bring them home without buying them. If people have insecurities and don't want to do them in front of others then I do suggest buying them...or take the chance and download them for free lol.

OnARoll --- 12 years ago -

thank you for the info. it's not a matter of insecurity, it's a matter of childcare. i'm still nursing my 9 month old.

AwesomeSauce --- 12 years ago -

I'm trying to get mine in CYS also. We had a SNAP meeting yesterday, and we're almost there, just need one more form filled out by the doctor. It's been almost a month lol. I'm glad I didn't even attempt it when he still had his trach.

AwesomeSauce --- 12 years ago -

Once he's in, I do plan to do the classes at Jensen. I go after bedtime now to soldiers field house or mcveigh and just use the machines.

OnARoll --- 12 years ago -

snap said once he's in he can't be watched for more than 2 hours... our meeting with snap was like 2 months ago and still nothing from them either.

AwesomeSauce --- 12 years ago -

Holy moly.

OnARoll --- 12 years ago -

well my son won't take plastic. he never has liked a bottle or paci.
when we were in separate hospitals before i got a chance to nurse him he would not suck a bottle. he held the milk in his mouth and spit it out. they stuck a tube down his nose and said it would be a while before he would learn to swallow properly. i went against the drs and nurses and nutritionists and stuck my boob in his mouth when they left the room and guess what? he took it.
he nurses quite often. he does eat solids but once he gets OT we're going to train him to just take a plain old cup. so far i can get him to take sips from a cup, but still no bottle. and no one at CYS is going to sit there trying to get him to take enough sips to satisfy him.

so you probably don't have to worry about that... my guy is just different.

Megan LeeAnne --- 12 years ago -

They will watch him for 2 hours at the gym childcare or you can take them to the regular childcare for longer. The gym is 2 hours because most efficient workouts only require 30 min to an hour depending how hard you push. They will also watch them another 2 hours the same day but it has to be like morning and later on.

What is this snap meeting you guys are talking about? I've never had one for my children.

AwesomeSauce --- 12 years ago -

Yea, different situation. Mine gets almost all of his nutrition from bottles. We need a special diet form since they don't give bottles past 1 year, and he cannot eat age appropriate food. I also have to provide all food for him while he's there.

Since he gets feeding therapy, I didn't want them to give solid food but apparently that wasn't good enough lol.
