I know that many people have mixed feelings about the Mary Kay opportunity and rightfully so. I would like to know what you guys think... I am a Independent Beauty consultant with Mary Kay I personally have had a good experience and love the products.. but I think there are some pros and cons.. good consultants, bad consultants, and some pushy ones etc. just like any other company out there. If you are interested in Mary Kay products, a free facial, want to become a consultant or just have questions let me know.

I would like to know what you guys think...

This is probably a loaded question!

My Mom hosted a ton of Mary Kay parties back in the 80's. I remember how much fun they were when I was a little girl. They used to have these pink plastic cases and I remember the ladies gave facials and did nails and all kinds of things that I don't think they do at the parties now. I don't buy a lot of make up, period. And I wouldn't want to sell MK. But I know a lot of people who love it so I'm sure there's plenty of business to go around! Good luck!

I used to be a MK Consultant, and I loved doing it. But I also went to meetings with a very back-stabby consultant that unfortunetly lived down the street from me as well.

I bought a car, pearl white, about two weeks after I signed up. Said back-stabby SAW the car, and rather then ask me about it, she called our director, and demanded to know how I already earned my MK car (which I hadn't, I bought the car) and that just started a huge chain reaction.

But other then that, it's great, and I really do love some of their products. Although I am REALLY not fond of that "I Love Lashes" Mascara that they had last year. It flaked so bad.

no this question is not loaded.. I am honestly curious because I have heard a lot of mixed opinions since I moved up here from California(where I started selling Mary Kay)So I would like to answer questions and get honest opinions. We still do Mary Kay parties and they are a lot of fun... but most of the time we don't do nails. I don't wear much make-up either(when I do it is Mary Kay)I wear it for parties and roughly every couple weeks for fun. My favorite thing about Mary Kay is the skin care. That is what got me selling the products.

I am sorry you had a bad experience.. unfortunately it happens way to often. I have came across a few of those people myself :(

No! ;)

WAY over priced, but I do LOVE their toner!

Yes, I literally use Elf brand now, "very cheapo brand" I buy it at Target and it is 100% better than MK I agree with CS it flakes horribly!

i like the lipstick mainly because it's the same lipstick i used when i played dress up with my grandmas makeup and the lipstick taste reminds me of her

i used to sell mk for a while but once my husband got himself a job and couldn't watch my daughter anymore i kinda just quit and when i got to WA i gave all my inventory away.

I like their face care. Not so much the makeup. I've never hosted or been to a MK party, but I have had a few different ladies do my makeup. I always felt like a clown.

During the Mary Kay party you get to try lots of products(the Mary Kay facial) I do also give everyone the opportunity to try the make up but it isn't a requirement

I do love their original waterproof lash grow mascara. Don't have flaking issues with that. It's just that "Lash Love" stuff I had issues with.

I do love the cleansers. Does wonders for my skin. And the "Zit cream" is great.

I also love their brushes. I had a brush set for nearly ten years before finally replacing it two years ago.

I however am not font of the fact that the pressed powder eyeshadows really aren't that vibrant. I know MK is about professional but fun beauty looks, but sometimes I just want some POP!

If they made a BRIGHT cream eyeshadow line,(like the paint pots) I would probably take out a loan just to buy every color, lol. well... At least green! It's hard to find a good paint pot in a medium/light but bright green without going to the high priced guys.

Oh yes! I love the brush kits as well. I absolutely cannot wear the makeup at all, it breaks me out horribly. But that toner I swear is magic. it will clear your breakouts up very fast. I don't really break out anymore, so I stopped getting it. But it does keep your face clear and feels good after you use it.
