yep I have tried that, and placing the food inside the loop of the slip leash on the ground and pulling the leash up... it spooked him.. I still can call him somewhat.. but now he refuses to get close...

It came when I called for it and was eating out of my hand. Leashing is the tricky part though with how scared it is. Thanks!! I am going to need all the luck I can get.
