33Whisky --- 13 years ago -

I'm available now to late September.

My rate is $10/per hour for 2 children, $15/hour for 3+
(This rate includes cleaning throughout the day, preparing meals and teaching/tutoring)

1.I have CPR and First Aid training.
2.I can cook, do laundry and basic housecleaning.
3.I love pets of all varieties.
4.I am very active and enjoy outdoor activities.
5.I have experience as a tutor and mentor and can help with literature, English, history, economics, spelling and grammar. I have experience tutoring children of all ages.
6.I teach children skills through various activities (ie. Sorting skills via putting away toys).
7.I can provide several references for my past work as a babysitter and nanny.
8. I have my own car, and have no problem transporting children (gas expenses will have to be covered though)

In a typical day with children in my care, I prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, spend time reading with them, time doing chores, we clean their rooms together, they can earn video game time and movies, as well as arts and crafts time, weather/location permitting we will also spend time outside playing.

Please PM me if you are interested and I will give you my personal number and hopefully arrange to meet.

Edit at the top, $10/hour 1-2 children

MissyhatesLewis --- 13 years ago -

That's about 400 a week. I don't hardly make that much working full time after taxes=/

a1125604uu --- 13 years ago -

Yeah, $400 a week is a bit much. My infant is in full time daycare for less than that.
You really feel that cleaning is worth $5hr? and childcare is $5hr?

Chris P Bacon --- 13 years ago -

Uh Oh!!!

**grabs a bucket of popcorn**

treywilliamsmommy --- 13 years ago -

I was a Nanny in Tennessee and Virginia and the price that she is asking is standard for a Nanny/Mothers Helper.

peanutbutterjellytime --- 13 years ago -

Personally I don't think that what she is asking is to much. We are not talking daycare or babysitting we are talking about a nanny which is a totally different ball game. I wish we could afford it :( Good luck 33Whisky!

BelleAdoresMommaFriend --- 13 years ago -

Yeah in Dc where I am from nannies typically charge 15-20 an hour, but considering the income ratio from DC to Lewis 10 would be about right. Though I think the only way you will find that is to find get either a non-military couple or higher ranking possible dual military couple.
Try posting on Sittercity.com, you may have better luck finding a position.

It would be awesome to be able to have a nanny! Maybe if I was a superstar:)

CSGray --- 13 years ago -

Sitter = Watches kids...feeds them, just makes sure they don't die pretty much.

Nanny = Alternative mom almost. They teach, they cook, they clean, they sometimes even do errands.

Honestly, if I could afford it, when I get a job, I would prefer a Nanny over a Daycare.

MissyhatesLewis --- 13 years ago -

Same here Cs...I think if I had a job that I could afford one I would LOVE to have one. I work in the childcare field and honestly I would prefer a nanny;) lol

Ditto this!

mamarex --- 13 years ago -

Yeah I this think there is a big difference between a babysitter and a nanny and 10 an hour isn't to bad to score a someone to watch the kiddos and help with light housework. If my job paid more then that id consider it. Lol

ditto! I wish I were rich, but first I'd hire a cook...I love hanging with my kids.

Pandaroni --- 13 years ago -

I think the asking price for those services is VERY fair, but this is exactly, and unfortunately why I cannot afford to work here. There are very few jobs that offer a job that pays enough to afford to pay this type of fee. I am still actively seeking a job, and if I can pay someone this fee to help me out, know my kids are cared for, safe, fed, and loved, I will SO do it! :) I paid 420$ per week for just one child when we first moved here over 5 yrs ago. I can only image the cost now since rates have gone up.

Megan LeeAnne --- 13 years ago -

Try out sittercity and make a profile on there :) I've had people contact me lately needing summer "nannies" paying 10-15 an hour for 1 child, them even knowing I had children of my own that would be with me and doing it in my house only. I had to turn them down though. I forgot my profile was still active and I'm due in 3 weeks...no way could I make time for it this summer.

33Whisky --- 13 years ago -

Sorry, I know the asking price is high, but for me, nannying is a Job, not a hobby, I take it very seriously.

I'm not a "sit on the couch and 'watch' your kids" nanny; I am an active, loving, involved nanny, that spends time bonding with children, learning and attending to their personal needs, cleaning, teaching and turning everyday activities into learning activities. I have experience teaching learning disabled children, experience with children with anger issues and depression, with tutoring from pre-school-high school and I apply ALL of my experience in every job I have.

I apologize that it is a high price, I don't like that it is, but you have to understand that with gas prices so high, rent, food costs, and the costs of ANY extra activities, nannies need to make enough money to support themselves too.

I don't charge that much to rip anyone off, I charge it because I am a dedicated caregiver and the cost is #1 worth the devotion I will offer your children and #2 this is a Job that I work very hard at and I have to make a living too.

Additionally, I have been ripped off multiple times by a family that skimped on my pay when I was watching their disabled son, teaching him and cleaning their entire house; I learned from that experience that I need to be more clear about my pay and why it is so high.

AwesomeSauce --- 13 years ago -

My cousins nanny in Rhode island where they're going to college (well. Both just graduated.) But they both make about $500/week.

33Whisky --- 13 years ago -

Nannies pay is normally in the range of $300-$800 a week, depending on children, hours and commute

a1125604uu --- 13 years ago -

Well, it sounds like everyone seems to agree your price is reasonable. At the same time none of us could afford you.
Good luck.
