What Birth Control do you use,i'm going to start Birth control and think i am going with the "depo-shot" though i haven't read anything good about it or it's side effects. though i like not having aunt flow for 3 month til the next shot. lol ( let's stay on topic just what you use and if you like it or not)

Rosey Bum --- 13 years ago -

Rosey Bum --- 13 years ago -

Rosey Bum --- 13 years ago -

lord dont get me started! Cant remember if I told ya, but I had two sets! 1st, and 3rd pregnancies. :(

Rosey Bum --- 13 years ago -

for someone who was told i would never have children, i sure did. All of them didnt make it, but at least i got 4!

brittney --- 13 years ago -

i was on depo from 96 to 00 never had an issue with it until i got pregnant while on it lol . and this new baby was a depo baby. ive used the mirena iud for 3 years and it fell out but i never had really any complaints. i was on the pill and the patch and got pregnant on both of those. but i loved the depo.

fam0f3 --- 13 years ago -

I'm currently on the pill (no big complaints) about to switch to Mirena. I used depo after my son and it was ridiculous! I hated it! Every month my period was 3 weeks. Then I would get a week off and it would all start again. Yea, thanks a lot depo. I don't mind taking a pill in order to not deal with that crap!

Kathryn --- 13 years ago -

I get pregnant on the pill.

a1125604uu --- 13 years ago -

I've tried the ring...it was hard to put in the right spot and once came out during sex.
I had mirena for 3 years, was okay. I had a lot of pain the first few months it was settling in place.
The last thing I was on was Yaz. I liked it, but it's hard to take pills everyday.

SweetPea --- 13 years ago -

Im on Ortho-TriCyclen...im on the lowest dosage..i take my at 8pm every night and it has worked out great for me...next year when i take my annual, im looking to switch to something I dont have to take everyday...i have had no side effects wit it and i sit it on top of my bathroom sink because thats the last place that i am before going to bed..it helps me to remember...so far so good...no pregnancy yet (cross fingers)..

:-))

Megz --- 13 years ago -

im TTC so not on BC but be careful with the Depo...I know girls who were on it for 2 years and had to do fertility treatments afterwards bc it made them infertile. these girls had gotten preg 2 or 3 times before ever going on it.

other gfs of mine got preg on it.

AdmiralHalsey --- 13 years ago -

I've taken Yasmin for the past 5 years. Every day around lunch time, never missed a pill and never gotten pregnant. But I go to the doctor for a check up next week and I'm going to see about getting Implanon...

NotACityGirl --- 13 years ago -

I am on depo and love it. Been on it for 3 years now with no problems. When I first started, the first 2 shots was horrible with my body adjusting. I haven't had a period in almost 3 years now and love that. It does change my hormones and my breast get tender and a little bigger from time to time. I asked my doctor last time about it causing infertility and she said no, but it can take as little as 6 months or up to 2 years to get pregnant once you get off when you have been on as long as I have. Also, I haven't gained weight on it but it makes my hair grow like crazy. The most favorite thing about it is 1, no period, 2 you can get it about a month in advanced if you have to (you have a 14 day window anyway), and 3, I don't have to remember to take it everyday. The only complaint I have, my hubby loves, is it makes me want to do it all the time. Its not a bad thing but sometimes I don't want to but my body does. Hope this helps and good luck!

ellaella --- 13 years ago -

Im super anti depo and I know a lot of docs wont even do it, my sister got prego on it, after being on it for years and years.. and ended up having to end the pregnancy on her 6th month.

very sad.

I love my mirena..
never had issues.

they also have different IUDS you can try

Robyn --- 13 years ago -

Im on tri cyclen lo. Been on it for over 16years. I like it. Never gained weight or became moody like some pills because its low in estrogen. And Im lucky my period usually only lasts a day. Ive even forgot to take the pill a few nights but being on it for so long it didnt even do a thing. After having my son I went right back on it.

sugarcookies --- 13 years ago -

I'm on Mirena, I love it, one time deal and most of the time you're friendly monthly visitor doesn't come lol

Kathryn --- 13 years ago -

I was on ortho when I got pregnant, never missed a pill and practiced the pull out method!! When we were ready for baby number 2 we thought it'd be the easiest thing... It took over a year to conceive.

NadaSuperstar --- 13 years ago -

I had mirena. Had negative experience. Nuva Ring was fine. Got prego on yaz with my son. Took it as directed. The doctor forgot to warn me it is not effective when taken with antibiotics.....so be warned. Lol.

Yep i finally popped Aug 13th --- 13 years ago -

was on the pill from 02-05 (was on it to regulate my period and help with cramping)

i was on depo from 05-06 (got off because hubby was deploying and we wanted baby #2 when he got home...had no period shortly after the first shot :)....was off it for a year got preggo 11 days after he came home(12month deployment) then after i had my son i went right back on depo from 08-09 had crazy unpredictable periods sometimes more than once a month (got off it cause hubby was deploying again and we wanted another baby when he got home lol after he got home (10 month deployment) it still took us 9 months to concieve. i just had our son on the 13th so im not sure what i will be going on now ...i really dont want to do depo again. im thinking mirena but im kinda scared of it...also thinking of the ring..i weigh to much for the patch,i couldnt remember my prenatal everyday so the pill is just really not an option,i know to many people who were/are pregnant on implanon...so idk...abstinence i guess lol..my poor hubby he already hasnt had any since dec due to a tilted pelvis during pregnancy :( ....so any advice would be great as to my options

Frankie --- 13 years ago -

I did depo and gained a ton of weight, had awful mood swings, and was so tired all the time. I tried the IUD and once it came out and the 2nd it got wrapped around some things and caused some major bleeding so they removed it, pregnant on the pill twice lol, and now I've had the Implanon for 2 years with no period, no mood swings, no problems! :-) But it's best to talk to the dr and find out what works best for you. I just vote for something you don't have to worry about all the time.

ERAsmommy --- 13 years ago -

I'm on implanon and so far i love it. I dont even feel it anymore after that first week. No crazy hormone swings like I had on depo or the pill either.

I was the same way. Depo was awful!

Kathryn --- 13 years ago -

I hate having to take a pill everyday! I won't have to worry about going back on BC until this baby is over a year old since my husband is leaving.

wildflower2007 --- 13 years ago -

I'm getting the para-guard after this baby's born. Its non hormonal and an IUD. My best friend has had it for 2 years and loves it.

Implanon really did a number on me. Apparently, it was still no match for my husbands "liittle men", being as I got pregnant on it.

Different things work for different people. Consult your doc and see what they recommend.
