I would like to hear from some moms and their experience delivering at madigan, I am going with a midwife but still deciding on a hospital. Also does anyone know of pregnancy classes including exercise and nutritional ones on or off pose?

I had a very good experience there.

I liked Madigan for delivery.

They also had a list of classes regarding exercise and nutrition when I was last pregnant. But that was in 2009.

I had two miserable L&D experiences at Madigan. If you do a search on here you'll find all the good, bad, and the ugly lol. I know at every OB appointment I went to they had posters/fliers hanging in the rooms for every kind of pregnancy or parenting class you could imagine. Most were at the hospital or on post at various locations.

Most hospitals offer tours so you can see the labor and delivery and make a decision, any of you know if madigan does?

I had two of my three kids there. Mind you that was in 1995 and 2000, but, both were great experiences.

I actually just had my baby at Madigan on Christmas. They do have a list of classes however I wasn't able to go to any because since the gov't shutdown the classes had been cancelled since October so I don't know when they will be held again. I was also on the midwife team, an option I chose because there are 7 midwives so I felt I would have a better chance of knowing the midwife who delivered, and funny enough the midwife who delivered my little one was the midwife at my last appointment who had swept my membranes.

Also for a hospital tour you just walk in to labor and delivery and if they aren't busy the nurse will show you the rooms and go over everything with you.

My husband and I had issues with Madigan only for them messing up my due date, not having any of the classes, and when I delivered the lactation consultant wasn't there because of the holidays so I had to wait and go to the M.O.M meeting to help with my daughter's latching.

Also at Madigan you have shared rooms unless you have a c-section, and your husband has to follow visiting hours 9am-9pm. I was lucky and was able to have my own room and the visiting hours for my husband weren't awful mainly because he needed the sleep and he was able to get things ready and be there during the day so that I could get sleep.

Overall I had a pretty good experience with the midwife team and delivering at Madigan. If you have any other questions I might be able to help you, you can just message me =)
