It's too hot for me this year but maybe next year. I've heard great things.

I'm just trying to avoid heat stroke! Lol

That being said, who has AC???

a1125604uu --- 12 years ago -

My family attempted it this year. It was a lot of walking, very FEW samples, and no activities for young children.

Katena --- 12 years ago -

we put our ac in our window today and have fans goingin every room. i know it does not get hot here but for military families we should at least have ac. Most of us are from the East Coast.

Sorry, I know my comment is off topic of the original question but I agree with Katena! Everyone in the military is so diverse and come from many different parts of the country where some of us are used to A/C being in our homes. At that the very least they could put in ceiling fans. The new homes over on Merriwether Landing have a/c. Maybe they'll go back and slowly retrofit the older homes with a/c since the ducts are already in place for the heating. We went out and bought a window unit today. We are in a two story and I think we're going back out tomorrow and purchase one more. At least then we'll have one for downstairs and upstairs.

I don't mind not having AC. I never had it growing up. It does get hot, yes, but thats what sprinklers and fans are for ;-) i do think we will be putting our window unit in soon though. The kiddo and husband are furnaces.

We didn't really have a problem until we moved into the 2 story. Since heat rises it's just so hot upstairs when it's bedtime and so it makes my kids sweat to death! I send them to bed in only underwear/diapers and they still are uncomfortable. Ceiling fans make a huge difference. Some homes you are able to put them in yourself but the housing manual says to call. I guess some of the older homes don't have enough support in the ceiling.

I have central AC in my house, wouldn't have bought a house without it, haha. :)
Taste of Tacoma sounds interesting. I always loved going to Taste of Dallas, I wonder if it's anywhere near as good.

probably lots of fish

Sandra --- 12 years ago -

We have 2 window units, but right now we've only put one because it has been enough, but come 7 am I close all the blinds and windows to keep it cool and the AC and fans run all day and night.
