Is there any other phone options available other than the crappy MWR phone with really bad connection? I was thinking cell phone but is so pricey. The wifi internet is $120 so something thats not that pricey. 

We only had the option of the MWR phone or their computers before the wifi. The wifi wasn't always that great. Sometimes Skype wouldnt do video chats since everyone was on. We've never had a problem with the MWR phones. 

I have friends over there that use wifi on their cell phones and do tango or oovoo calls. Just make sure the regular phone network is off. Since it runs on wifi, it doesn't cost extra, it can just be pixelated and weird depending on the connection. 

Yea we did cell phone a few times but the bill was ridiculous ---- we just used Skype instead. :D 

can you just buy a sim card from that county and pop in your phone? 

My husband has an iphone, and he got the wifi in his tent. We use facetime on the iphones and skype on his netbook.
