"I'd like to share with you, an Adventure!" ~ Gandalf.

Opps, options 3 & 5 are virtually the same. My bad. Lol. I'm a little too excited.

AwesomeSauce --- 12 years ago -

I read all the books and watched the LOTR trilogy... But those are super long movies. I'm not so good at sitting through for that long. So we shall see!

Sandra --- 12 years ago -

We already purchased tickets to see it, but I ALWAYS fall asleep during movies so technically I will be there w/ my blanket to take a 3 hr nap, while a bunch of friends watch it.

myopinion --- 12 years ago -

They call this nerd porn

ColoradoNative --- 12 years ago -

I'm so excited I can't even explain (I'm definitely one of those geeks who's read the LotR triology about twenty times and was in line for hours at the midnight showings of all three movies.... yup.), but I told my husband I'd wait to see it with him when he gets home from Afghanistan in a few weeks...

Chris P Bacon --- 12 years ago -

K, anyone seen it yet? Reviews? I'm hoping to catch a mid week matinee.

Sandra --- 12 years ago -

After last night, I'm really looking forward to my nap at AMC today! I doubt I'll make it past the previews so sorry Crispy, I won't be able to give you MY review but I'll ask the friends!

JustcallmeSuz --- 12 years ago -

Could not pay me to go. LOL

Sandra --- 12 years ago -

Well, I am not a Tolkien nerd, but I definitely pay for the nap! Ok, all 9 nerds that went loved it! They all gave it 2 thumbs up!

i fell asleep during the first lord of the rings. when i woke up it was still on and still boring. no desire to see any of the others.

i heard several animals were killed during the making of this movie.

Samba --- 12 years ago -

They died because of basically neglect. It was because of where they were being kept. If anyone is familiar with New Zealand or has ever been there, sinkholes and such are very common, and a very dangerous part of the NZ scenery and all over their beautiful green fields. My husband's uncle has a huge farm there and we have ridden his horses a few time on his property and they were everywhere. The scary part is, if you chose to ride through the fields, you can get sucked in by the sinkholes in a blink. However, it was brought to their attention (from the claims in this particular article)that the risks were there and yet they did keep the animals there. Sad. Animal deaths article

Samba --- 12 years ago -

Here is another article stating there were no animals harmed during the actual filming of the movie, but due to the conditions and dangers on the farm where they were kept.

I'm buying my husband and daughter tickets to go see it, they are the only 2 who would enjoy it.

Chris P Bacon --- 12 years ago -

I wanna see it.

Reviews were great... I'm just waiting to find a free 3 hours to go

Chris P Bacon --- 12 years ago -

My buddy just saw it and said it was really good except the beginning is a bit slow. I wish the drive-ins were open. That's one thing I miss about So. Cal is year round drive-ins.

Aubogon --- 12 years ago -

I heard there were a few musical numbers in the beginning and it takes them 30 min to get out of the Shire... we are going to try for this weekend

myopinion --- 12 years ago -

Um they did it again,
Made a FLIPPING AMAZING MOVIE.
I went in so skeptical and couldn't figure out how I grew so pessimistic for this series. Maybe to much time had gone by since we last saw these hobbits? Or was it pure doubt that anything more could be done with them?
Either way I stand corrected and give a standing ovation all at the same time.
What an amazing story of true character ...courage and nobility. A movie that makes for amazing character analysis in the oddest of species ...hobbits and dwarfs. Yet I find myself in awe and filled with respect for the true testimony of these stories heroes ...regardless how small they may be. And how anyone can walk out of the theater without feeling a desire to be a little braver in life is beyond me.

myopinion --- 12 years ago -

However I'm pinching pennies as of late, so no 3D here. Nonetheless a real treat.

33Whisky --- 12 years ago -

I have to say. I went to the midnight showing premiere. WORTH IT. WORTH IT x10

ColoradoNative --- 12 years ago -

I won't see it in 3D (never really adds anything extra to most movies for me, anyway!) but I've been waiting to see it until my husband gets home from Afghanistan very soon. I keep telling him he has no idea how hard that is - I was at the midnight showing of all three Lord of the Rings movies (for 9+ hours each time...) and this is killin' me. lol!
