Is anyone on the waitlist for discovery it new hillside? I'm trying to choose between the two home styles and can't get an approximate answer in wait time. 

I don't know the wait time but I have lives in both. I prefer discovery so worth the wait in my opinion. 

Ok that's what I'm leaning towards. I love the space and flooring I'm in clarkdale now. Def want something better

You can get times on website and go for Discovery :-) Bigger is better. 

Depends on how long you want to wait, Discovery can be upwards of a year. 

Online is nowhere near accurate for wait list times. A few people have stated recently when they applied online said 30-60 days and its been 90 plus. Call the housing. They are the only ones who can give you the best estimate and it will change as well depending on people who drop out of the list or people who need housing quite quicker than you. Our wait list for beachwood said less than 30 days and it was a month and a half. 

I didn't know if they would bump us back on the list periodically making our wait longer because we have a house right now but I guess ill just go for our first choice sit and wait. 

You can be bumped but not because you already have a home. Typically you get bumped because someone may have come back from Korea and moved from another post, so they will have that year taken off their wait time. Same goes for say someone coming from overseas, and they take 30-45 days of leave en route, their time eligible is from when they signed out of post from their last duty station, making them have that leave time taken off their wait time and COULD bump you if you are that close.

It all just depends on housing really.Ft. Lewis is weird because we PCs in 6 weeks and they already put us on the wait list for the new post. Some people coming into post just cut straight to the front of the housing line :-/ 

We were put on the waitlist here at Sill before leaving there, but it wasn't an official spot until we signed in and he in processed. Then when he did they told us about 7 months or so, 3 weeks later they called us and asked us if we were ready? Um no, sorry in a lease. I never trust wait times. I have decided to just stay off post here because I like my house and LOVE my landlady. Plus, we pocket some BAH in the long run, what they offered us on post I wouldn't give up that for. 

@ Shelley - That's annoying! They think money grows on trees and that people like living in hotels i guess. We are looking off post also and found a few nice homes under BAH. We just thought we would try on post first due to being new to the area. Didn't want to rent in a bad neighborhood and not realize it. 

yeah we found a house the day we got here. We had been on vacation for a month and I was ready to call somewhere home. Thankfully we had friends who had lived here before us and we would tell them addresses and they would tell us what they thought. We went thru the ahrn.com website. So glad I found this house. 

Thanks Shelley that totally makes sense. I just need the hubby to pick up one more .paper and we can finish the application process. I figured if we are going to be here.longer I want a better quieter area to call home.
