Hi, I am a certified respite care provider in Ft. Lewis and work for Align staffing. I currently work with 1 family but I'd like to take one more family. I have been a respite care provider for over 2 years. Please email me if you are a respite care recipient and are looking for a provider. Hopefully we can be a match. I can provide references if you'd like as well as meet.
Well apparently one of my respite care families' hours are going to be reduced so I am in search of another family. I can still provide with references and am hard working, reliable and patient and willing to learn in case there is some special need I haven't worked with before.
EFMP approved me for this. However my pride has gotten in the way of actually following through with it. However lately my memmory has taken a weird turn and im doing ridiculous things like putting milk in my cabnet and keys in my freezer. Some days are easier then others. I guess a little guidence "help" might do me good. My doctor suggested this to me again in January after missing 4 app. He said I might benefit from the "help". However it is VERY difficult for me to remember and go do anything out of my daily routine. So me following through if theres a 100 steps could be the red light. Just putting that out there. Dont know what you might think of to do.
I am kind of like you in that I know I qualify for it for my autistic son, but I have teen kids so why? If you are interested, I am not sure what steps you can take to get the ball rolling, perhaps calling Carol at EFMP might be a start. I work for Align but I don't know what other companies do it. As a respite care provider, we can do anything pretty much like being an extra set of hands. Most people use it for babysitting, that's what I do most of the time, but we can also help w/ light housekeeping and laundry or I once went on a field trip with one of my kids, or maybe run errands. You also don't have to be there. Pretty much anything that you may need to do just not feel up to it or maybe need help with.
Btw, i didn't update but that 8 yr old whose mom put the ad has been my respite care kid for several months now, she is a different challenge but i love it and her!
I am looking to work with kids that are not in school yet or go only half day because I already work afternoons with the other family and the weekends belong to my family. I have tutored before, but depends on the grade and ability.
Sandra, Align actually called me today to see if I wanted to come back to work because they have families that need providers! I have a baby and don't plan on going back for a few more months but thought I would let you know.Maybe you should give them a call.
I know how you feel girl! They are a difficult place to work for! Luckily the job is pretty rewarding! Not to mention super hard to contact when you need to! Since I stopped working a few months ago they have called / emailed me numorous times! I would call them tomorrow.
Sandra is AWESOME!!! Hey did u know they Army is changing companies for the EFMP. Over here they made me sign a paper regarding the new company and that it should start next month. I'm glad they are getting rid of Align too many complaints and time w/o services. I guess the change from contractors to employees didnt happened as smooth as I should've.
Aw Hooah, you're too nice, but your kids make my work so enjoyable. I really do love what I do, but it's frustrating not being able to work more. And I am hoping that this new company will be better about putting me out there so that I can meet another family, because in the close to 4 years I've worked with Align, that is my only gripe, that only once did I get a phone call about a family to work with. I have called them and repeatedly put my name out there, and although I've had no issues w/ Align, this is my only complaint!
