Hey Y'all,
My fiance was just stationed in S. Korea at Camp Casey but he is to start acaping in about a month. He was with Ranger Bat at JBLM and lit just got to Korea about two weeks ago.

My question, how in the hell is he supposed to transition back into society from Korea??!!

Has this ever happened to anyone before and are there any known lew poles to get him at least back in the states in the next few months because of him ETSing?

I have tried looking stuff up online but I've found nothing. I know it's a shot in the dark and there may be nothing I can do but I won't go down without a fight because this is BS.

When he declined ft Brag, because he was not extending or re uping, they "forgot" to give him the "i could possibly go to korea" waver, and they screwed him big time.

Any and all help is welcome. Thanks!!

I ment to get him out of being stationed in Korea. Is there any sort of lew pole?

Is he still with ranger batt? My husband was a Ranger for 7 yrs and never went to Korea

No he's out of Ranger Bat now, he's in 2nd ID at Casey now. It's just pointless for him to be there and a waste of the army's money because he's getting out. I was told they may send him back because of that but he said he was told he will be there until hi ets date.

He needs to call Branch and tell them what's up.
My husband was going through a med board and they gave him orders to Korea.
He had to call Branch and tell them that he was going through a MEB, he CAN'T go to Korea. They basically said "oops, my bad. Orders cancelled"
They will either cancel his orders, or Stop-loss him.
(I know, there's a lot of dumb stuff about stop-loss)

He is already in Korea so branch isn't going to pull him to acap. And acapping from S.Korea is actually nice...it's not that much different than the US, it's not like he is in rural Cambodia or anything. A lot of people choose to acap there----

They didn't screw him, they sent him to Korea like they do 50% of the rest of the Army- how long has he been in?

How long is it before his ETS date? Is it a year away still or sooner? Reason why i'm asking is because if its less than a year then they shouldn't have sent him. Tours unaccompanied in Korea are 1 year. We are stationed in Germany. When we were stationed at Ft. Riley before we came down on orders (2012 for Germany) My husbands ETS date was Feb of 2014. They told him in order to go to Germany he had to extend his contract. My husband didn't want to come to Germany because we had just closed on our house so he asked what if i don't extend then can i still reenlist later if i decide i want to? They told him no if he didn't extend his contract to go to Germany he can consider his career in the Army over. Rather he did a 2 year unaccompanied tour or brought us with he still would have had to extend either way. So What i'm saying is if he had less than a year left then they couldn't have sent him unless he extended. If that's the case then someone messed up his stuff or was not looking at what his ETS date was when the brought him down on orders for Korea. The only thing you can really do is call branch or have him call branch and be like hey here is my situation i got sent to Korea for a year but i have less than that for my ETS date i shouldn't have been sent here to begin with. Not really sure they can do anything about it since he is already there but never hurts to try.

We are running into issues that my husband can reenlist but the only options open right now are Germany (which like i said we are here already and we dont want to spend another 3 years here we have already been here a little over 1.5 years we are ready to come back) Korea, or another place overseas i cant remember where but the 3rd option is a hardship tour so we (the family) would have to be moved back to the states if he chooses that. Kinda stuck right now we dont want any of those places. He is still over a year away from his ETS date so he has a little while before his reenlistment window closes. I think he is going to hold off for a little bit longer and see if anything else comes open for the states. WE are so over with this overseas stuff. lol. Good luck
