Open Paws has proudly served JBLM for the past 10 years & was created over 13 years ago so that fellow military families could travel knowing their pets would remain in the safety and familiar environment of HOME. It's better than a kennel where your fur baby/babies will be stuck in a crate all day. With home boarding your fur baby gets individual attention with a small number of well-socialized dogs, and supervision from a responsible & passionate pet owner, all at a price that doesn't add up to more than your vacation. As a Career soldiers wife with over 19 years of pet sitting and fostering experience, I have experience in both oral and subcutaneous medication application and also fully versed in K9 first aid. You may be asking your self, what makes Open Paws different from the others?

Being a military wife now for over 24 years, I understand completely how our lives and situations can change in an instanant. Affordability, I have always taken it into consideration from lower enlisted to senior enlisted. Our family has opened our hearts and home to lovable paws where they have become a family.





References upon request & all pets visiting MUST be Neutered/Spayed, UTD on shots as well on a flea treatment. Reservations with a deposit of $25.00 which will be credited towards your balance. A 72 hour CANCELLATION notice MUST be given to retain the deposit.

I second this! I've taken my dog to OPPS a bunch of times and love knowing my dog is safe and taken care of.

We care for everyone's fur babies as we would want ours to be taken care of. Open Paws takes Sunday field trips to Ft. Steilacoom dog park at no extra charge, neither for morning & evening walks or play time.


That's the policy I created & it won't ever change. 

How much to board 8 & 9 year old males? They would require a lot of physical activities. Kennel time is fine. You can mix them with any breed of dog. They will eat anything.

I should mention they are human. 

Mine turned 21 yesterday!!


Our youngest will be 15 and I am feeling so sad already knowing she will be on her own in a few attending college :(
