I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any local food banks and which are the best to go to. We recently came on a rough time and have no money for groceries for this coming pay period, and I just need to get some stuff to get by. Any information would be much appreciated. And please no judgements I am not proud of this by any means. Thanks in advance.

I use the one in Yelm. They take calls on Wednesdays and Friday's nine til noon. You make an appointment and show up same day.
(360) 458-4003 I think this is the number. I would have to ask my husband to be certain. I'll let ya know when I double check.

Operation homefront wasn't helpful at all when I contacted them two years ago. It was "your soldier isn't deployed or a wounded warrior, so we won't help you in any way"

Really? Because my husband wasnt deployed and at the time wasnt a wounded warrior when used them to help us with food and they where so nice and helpfull and sent us cards to the commy.

There is the FISH food banks. You can go to their website. They have multiple locations in Washington. I think you have to be a pierce resident though and that covers groups the military. All they ask for is an ID and proof of residency. There is also no limit to how often you can go. Good luck! I know we have had some rough times too!! :( I know of a couple more but I don't have their info off the top of my head. One is in Lakewood and the other is in South Tacoma. PM me if you need the info of the others! :)
