My husband put unaccompanied Korea (short tour) on his dream sheet to try to get follow on orders. He is air force and has a friend who has done this who got his follow on before he left...my husbands father did also. Has anyone else done this? I know it varies, but about how long did it take to get orders for Korea? 

My husband had it on his for a VERY long time (not cause he wanted to go) but was open to it over XYZ ya know, and he never ever got it until he changed it a year later he got orders. 

My husband (air force as well) got orders to Korea and got to choose his follow on...since we didn't have a bunch of time, he had an E7 call the AFPC and they gave him his follow on right then and there...we moved to his follow station, Travis AFB, before he left. 

My husband currently has orders to Korea for later this year, we don't have his follow on orders yet, but we've been told we have a 90% chance of getting the base of his choice when it's time. So we'll see I guess. 

Totally miss read what you asked, we got Hood as our follow on, and we denied it, and we sent in a wishlist of 5 and got nothing we wanted, so we got stuck at Drum its happening more and more, I dont know many people who got what they wanted with certain MOSs that go with my husbands MOS.
