Hi, I was wondering if anyone opened an FCC while renting off post. My question is did your landlord have an issue with having an in home daycare? I just need a little advice. Thank you in advance!

Don't let them try to make up new rules. If its not in the lease then there's little legal issue they can take up with it. Now landlords can find due process to take action but unless they ate corporate then attorney fees are not ones they want. However if one starts battle with landlord you will usually lose either by losing your home or your sanity. Pick your battles wisely.

The best way to know is to talk to your landlord. If you are a good tenant, it probably won't be an issue. Also just to let you know, you will need to get licensed through the state living off post. The FCC training is good, but those certificates are only good the people who live on post.

Actually, you can't run a business from a rental such as a daycare without the landlords permission because if anyone is injured on his property he can be liable for it it. Just because it is not in your lease does not mean you can open a daycare. Your lease is for residential purposes, not a business so he could consider that a breach of lease and evict you.
