Me and the family are hoping to go camping this weekend. Does anyone have any info on where to go and where not to? I plan on taking my dog. Thanks!

If u want to stay on base, over on north fort is a decent place. Just call northwest adventure center, they will need the first nights deposit and you have to reserve in advance

I copied this from the website. We went and had a blast! They have showers, laundry rooms and lakeside tent sites. Pets allowed :)

Here is the state parks website http://www.parks.wa.gov/reservations/ , you can locate camping and make reservations on this site. If you find a place you really want to camp at but they say no availability, call the campsite, lots of times they have something but its just not listed on the site. Also, parks like Mt. Rainier are federal parks so you have to look on the federal parks site http://www.recreation.gov/

there are a ton of places to camp around here but you might have a hard time finding somewhere for this weekend considering its labor day weekend. Places book up super fast. There are some really great camp sites up at the base of rainer.

if you are trying to go this weekend you need atleast 48 hours to reserve a place. if you dont want to reserve and just take your chances.. this weekend is probably going to be packed.. its labor day and the last weekend before the kids go back to school.. good luck we had a hard time finding a place to camp without reservations when we went in july :/
