I am on the waiting list for discovery village my waitlist position is 96/154 does anybody know how long of a wait that may be? if you were on the waiting list or just moved in how long did it take you to get offered a home Thank you, Heather
Every situation is different But I added my name to the wait list in April. As of 2 weeks ago, I was # 46 on the list for a 3 bedroom. I got a call last week & was offered a house for Sept 22nd. It says on average youre looking at 4-6 months at least (4 bedrooms are probably longer) I just kept calling trying to get an idea for time frame since Im due to have my twins no later than Nov 14th & I wanted to make sure I had a room for them to come home to.
Just keep calling. Morgan is the one in charge of Discovery & shes really nice. Good Luck :-)
I was put on the waitilist in march of 2010 and got a house jan of this year. but we wern't in a hurry to move in since we were waiting on hubby to get promoted so we didnt have to pay transfer fee.he got promoted in oct and in december I asked why we were moving up on the list soo slowly, turns out they had our eligibility date for march of 2011 even though i informed them we could move asap.well after that we got a call like the next week. make sure your availability is asap and i'd call them or go in every once in a while and ask just to see, it can't hurt. oh mines a 3bdrm but during that time the waitlist said estimated time was 18months,we were offered the house i was position 17/out of like 90something.
Wow .. that 3 bedroom list is alot longer than the 4 bdroom. We're number 73 out of 77 but that's because our eligible date as of now is my DH's report date which is Oct. We will reporting early as we are on pcs leave right now, so keeping my fingers crossed we'll get something sooner.
Are you transferring from one house on post to Discovery? If you are- unless there is a change in rank or family size, you will owe a $500 transfer fee. (That fee can still be required even if you have a change in rank & family size if the current neighborhood manager feels that they could still accommodate your needs)
If you are moving on post for the 1st time, you will owe a pro-rated amount based on your BAH & how long you will be there for the month (I moved in to Clarkdale Oct 7th, 2010- I owed $1018)
Then you'll just have to pay the pro-rated amount for the month. They'll be able to tell you how much that is once you get your move in date & it'll have to be paid in full before you do your walk-thru inspection.
