I live in New Hillside, and for the 3rd time in the last few weeks, I had to take a detour thanks to Hillside Drive being blocked off yet again due to an accident involving two vehicles. All three incidents occurred around the same time – in the morning, during PT hours. All I have to say is, “Please slow down, people, and pay attention to your driving!!!” Seriously! This is a residential neighborhood with lots of Soldiers running on that road, children walking to school, and others simply trying to get from one place to another safely. PUT DOWN YOUR CELL PHONES, or whatever it is that’s distracting you, OBEY SPEED LIMITS, and for gosh sakes, SLOW THE HECK DOWN!!! I do not want my son & I (nor my neighbors) to become the next victims of your wrecklessness!!!! 

so sad.... i will admit sometimes i forget... and im like oh crap. one time i was speeding and the mp's didnt bother to stop me. i mean im glad they didnt but they should have

OMG I swear! I normally see people full texting with two hands on the phone, isn't it illegal to use phones while driving in WA, especially on base? I pass people who are going 20 in a 40 and they are chatting away with no care in the world. All the while I have been stuck behind them for ever trying to get to my destination with other cars riding my bumper because they think its me...I thought Fort Hood/Killeen was bad for driving, boy was I wrong. But I do do the speed limit and slow down even more in neighborhoods, the only road that gets me is the hills at Perimeter, I have to ride my breaks on that one.

Here in North Carolina they still havent, its illegal on base but people wait until off base and dial up all the time as long as your not texting they dont care. They are on u for texting, I have a gps on my phone and was trying to push the button to hear and I got pulled over cuz he thought I was texting, when he saw its gps he let me go.

It has been illegal on base for YEARS. It is not illegal in the state as well.

The curves are very slippery in the morning with the new dew and the shade, this winter I was driving along there and there was a two car accident and I almost joined them, But I avoided it because I wasn't speeding or distracted I used my defensive driver training skills and was able to avoid being vehicle number 3.
Thank god!
all I could think was "my daughter worked hard making and decorating the cupcakes in the back seat and she would have killed me if I got in a car accident and destroyed her hard work" 

Omg I am SO sick of people speeding through New Hillside! I am amazed at how fast I see some people drive right past my house...one of my neighbors included! There are speed limits for a reason and they are not hard to abide by. If you are late...it is nobody's fault but your own. Everyone in this neighborhood has children so I don't get why people (especially ones who live here with kids of their own) speed through here like it's no big deal. I was actually going to post about this today so I'm glad you beat me to it! It drives me crazy. It's rude and more importantly it's dangerous. When I'm going 20 through the neighborhood and someone comes up quickly behind me, I just slow down and hope they'll get the hint...but they don't.
