KatherineMarie --- 15 years ago -

Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens are on my list before we PCS, Forks lol, and the seattle underground tour is a given because i saw it on Ghost Adventures and i'd love to see it!

ALLEYS' WIFE --- 15 years ago -

Lol! I love Ghost Adventures... :) Please let me know if you know somewhere that I haven't been yet... My friends keep giving me ideas, but after 13 years... I'm running out of ideas! lol

IS there anywhere that is wheelchair friendly? We do a lot without our daughter since she is in her wheelchair, And we have a great nurse. But she loves getting out too. i would love to do more as a family that includes her! Any suggestions? We did go to Forkes. And that wasn't easy going to the beach! LOL But still fun!

ALLEYS' WIFE --- 15 years ago -

hmmmmmm... you know what, I'd have to actually really think so that i don't mislead you. I'll get back to you on that, and ask one of my friends to if she would know since one of her kids is in a wheelchair.

Jersey Jen --- 15 years ago -

Oh I loved Mt. Rainier and Mt. Saint Helens!! Oh and Ape Cave too! Which is actually on Mt. St. Helens. All worth going to! I've never been to the other places, but I hope we get to before we leave this state. If we do.

Misty P. --- 15 years ago -

You could always look up these places to find their websites or a phone number and call ahead to see about it being wheelchair accessable. :)

Christine A. --- 15 years ago -

Leavenworth is pretty wheelchair accessable I think. And Long Beach has a boardwalk type walkway along side the beach and alot of shops along the main roadway (but I dont reccommend driving on the beach...lol... last time we got stuck!!) The Pacific Science Center in Seattle is fun too. I dont know how old your daughter is, but my kids LOVE it!! We all do really...lol.

D --- 15 years ago -

thanks for the list, I was coming here to ask about day trips for the kids. Keep them coming everyone

ALLEYS' WIFE --- 15 years ago -

Yeah The Ape Caves are at St. Helens, but we usually make a separate trip for the caves and just hte mountain! We spend alot of time outside! I', having a brain fart though, so I'll get some more up later. I hate when I have it all in my head, and then can't remember anything when it comes time to write it. lol

Merktdawg07 --- 15 years ago -

Ok, those all sound super intresting...but what are the Fremont Troll, the ape caves and hurricane ridge?

LadyX --- 15 years ago -

Thanks I will check some of these out. What I need are one of those backpacks for children that actually fits her. We were outdoor people but Its hard with my baby girl. If i could get that modified that would be great! I think next time we go to childrens therapy unit I will ask them if they have any special needs ones or if they can modify ours. I seriously don't know why i didn't think about that! I am always having them modify something to make things as easy as possible for emmy!

Misty P. --- 15 years ago -

Hey, do you go to the CTU at Good Sam?

LadyX --- 15 years ago -

yes, I love it. She gets her equipment repair there and we see physical therapy there. We are still on a wait list for occupational. But they are great!

Misty P. --- 15 years ago -

We were on the list for a while, but my stepson got his first appt in psychology finally last friday...they are really awesome there...they had a ton of equipment there too.

ALLEYS' WIFE --- 15 years ago -

The Hurricane Ridge is just a spectacular place to go walking outside and the view is something you will never forget. You can look all of them up I'm sure. It's sorta like Rainier, only not a mountain! lol
The Ape Caves are at St. Helens and they are the lava tubes pretty much. Its really nice to go there on a hot day and enjoy the cool air inside. It takes a bit to make it through the hole thing and there is some climbing around to do. Definitely not something you can push a stroller through. And the Fremont Troll is a troll, lol... umm I would just look that up!

Anyone come up with anything new for me to do??? lol...

KatherineMarie --- 15 years ago -

THE ZOO! lol!!!! sorry im obsessed with the zoo lmao and thats all i hear from my husband "are we gonna go to the zoo when i get home!????" lol he's such a dork but i love him more than he knows hehe :-)

ALLEYS' WIFE --- 15 years ago -

LOL! Yeah we live at the zoo sometimes! I feel like we fit right in there with me and my monkey kids! lol

KatherineMarie --- 15 years ago -

-3D glow golf near the Capital Mall

OMG, i just looked that up....I can't believe we have never gone. Well maybe cause we didn't know about it lol but it looks like so much fun! We will definitely be going there when my hubs is back from training!! Thanks for the info.!

KatherineMarie --- 15 years ago -

whats the hands on museum like? is it somewhere i can leave my husband lmao! I'll have to tell him about all these places for us to go, need to find somewhere cheap and nice to go camping before summer ends (if it ever begins lol!!)

D --- 15 years ago -

The rainforest cafe in the Tukwilla (sp) mall is one of my kids favorite places to go
Do you all prefer the Tacoma or Seattle zoo?

ALLEYS' WIFE --- 15 years ago -

As far as the Zoo, I used to love the Pt. Defiance Zoo. but then they started all the renovations years ago and slowly they ended up with less animals and more buildings for kids to play and all that. Which is great, but if I wanted to take my kids to play, I would take them to the park. I think that the Woodland Park Zoo just has more for kids as far as the whole point of going to a Zoo. I wouldn't have said that years ago before the renovations started...but now, definitely.
