I have heard SO many of my husbands co-workers say there are alot of assaults dealing with children happening in the woods not far from my home on post. I have spoken with the neighbors and they get the same bits and pieces on information i do from co-workers who live in another neighborhood. I have called the mp's school police admin office and noone will give me any information. My daughter walks to the school bus (with me) everymorning and i meet her in the after noon but i see alot of children there that don't have a parent with them. I would like to know if ANYONE has some information if this person was caught, found...it is hard enough being so far from family and friends to add another streesor that there is a pervert running thru the woods abusing children isnt something i want to worry about. 

My friend got a letter from greenwood school about an assault but it was a grown woman that was attacked. I'm sure this doen't make you feel the greatest but atleast nothing has come up about kids. Hopefully it won't either. 

Absolutly not true. While there have been child on child incidents(like at every school) the number is very low compared to Off post communities. There is not a Rash of incidents, there is not a child attacker running loose, Fort Lewis is one of the safest communities for its size. 

there was a woman "attacked" on post. I have not heard of any children being assaulted or harassed. I know that Fort lewis put a stop to sex offenders living on post. 

sounds to me that someone has taken bits and pieces from the story out outside the perimeter by Roy and gotten it confused with your neighorhood. I havent heard of anything like that happening here on post and Ive been here for 4 years now

From what my husbands co-workers said they got a letter from the school about the young woman getting attacked but they also had 2 young children and one other woman get assaulted in the same woods in the same timeframe (which is 50 feet from my daughters bus stop) the rough info i got was " they havent gotten the person yet but they have a camera, a matress kids clothes and kids it happened to" The first i heard of it was last week when mp's were going door to door and asking for info in the adjacent houseing neighborhood now a week later there are more children added to the "list" of victims!! When i called and asked for information about it the mp desk said they couldnt release any information i needed to talk with the admin desk, i spoke with the woman at the admin desk and she wouldnt tell me anything either but seemed desperate for any information i may have had when i asked if they "caught him" (not knowing if the person doing the assualts is a male or female or both i said him), she replied with "do you have a name what do you mean him do you have any information regarding these assualts"... As for the offenders on post, that scared the snot out of me it is the first thing i check on when i move to a new place and to see that bright red dot in walking distance from school and daycare. I spoke with the houseing personel and the mps about it, Then getting a letter a week later that stated there never was an offender on post just made me mad. 

Yep mixed up stories, There was a guy several months ago who was camping in the woods near the Fort Lewis boundry outside of the fenced area(way out in the training areas) of post who was a child predator, he was cuaght by the FBI and is in Jail. There was a reported alleged assualt of a woman that is being investigated now. Looks like those two stories have merged into one. 

ok, that makes me feel a little better but im still going to be one of those paranoid moms that will always walk the kids to and from the bus stop and makes sure all the other children in the building go straight to and from the stop as well

I'm normally not one of the people that hears something and believes it as 100% true without facts, but my children mean the world to me and something like happening that really struck a nerve. 

As it should, I just dont want the wrong story going around and this one was obvious that two completely diff things were combined. I take your childs safety very seriuos also, so I invite you to share your concerns.
